The Green Crescent Trail has received a lot of attention lately. At the January 22nd Clemson City Council meeting, the Friends of the Green Crescent requested over $1 million dollars to be allocated in the annual budget for the next segment of the trail.
That recent request and other activity by the group led to coverage from local news outlets.
WSPA 7 News at the Green Crescent Bridge
On February 7th, 2019 WSPA 7 News reporter Nicole Ford was on site at the Green Crescent Bridge in Clemson. Here’s the actual clip.
Nicole Ford asked questions about how the Green Crescent Trail movement started, what’s happening now, whether Clemson City Council will fund the trail, and where the local supporters hope the trail network will be in the future.
Board members Drake McNeary & Chad Carson answered questions for the feature. And the news cameras also featured many parents and kids walking or biking to Clemson Elementary School.
Green Crescent Trail Featured in the Anderson Independent Mail
In addition to TV coverage, local newspapers featured the Green Crescent Trail.
Mollie Simon of the Anderson Independent Mail wrote an article titled Clemson Residents Pitch $1M to Start on Green Crescent Trail. The article focused on the financial request at the January 22nd City Council meeting.
As an organization we hope this recent publicity will help bring awareness and build momentum for the Green Crescent Trail system in the greater Clemson, Central, and Pendleton area.
